“What a fantastic season we have had with us doing a League and Cup double creating history. The highlight of the season was how our trident up front played returning 86 goals between them Zaza 38, Henriquez 26 and Gabbiadini 22.
Manolo Gabbiadini was brought in to replace Domenico Beradi who joined Juventus in the pre season, he was my player of the year averaging 8.24 from 42 games.
We only lost 3 games all season and whilst our front 3 scored the goals to win us games I was pleased with the way the team played as a unit in our 4-3-3 formation with Lucas Romero and Dani Parejo running our midfield anchored by Marco Verratti.
I am now looking towards next season and the clubs Champions League campaign. I am working on a alternative tactic with maybe using a back 3 and overloading the midfield, but its in the early stages of development so hopefully our pre season will give me more of an idea of how I want this to work.
On a personal level I am happy to continue as Sassuolo manager but may look to manage at International level after the upcoming European Championships which will no doubt see a few international manager’s lose their jobs ahead of the 2018 World Cup”.
