Forest Go Undefeated In September #FM16

September was a much better month for us, after the first month I realised I needed a tactical switch, so I changed to a 4-1-3-2 in a hope that we could steady the ship. I also decided to bring 2 players in on loan. We acquired Centre Back Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Bayer Leverkussen and Brazilian Defensive Midfielder Wallyson from Sporting Club Portugal, both will stay with the club until the end of the season.

September 2016 Results

Premier League Watford Home Drawn 0-0

Our first point of the season and a much improved performance. I gave a debut to Papadopoulos alongside Vestergaard at the back. I was pleased with result after our recent results.

Premier League Manchester City Away Drawn 3-3

A good result for us with Papadopoulos, Mendes and Assombalonga amongst the goals in our best performance so far this season. We more than matched City on the day and nearly grabbed all 3 points.Stuart Pearce put a bit of pressure on me speaking to the press before the game.

Capital One Cup  Birmingham City Away Won 5-1

Proved our dominance with 5 goals in a one way game at the Championship club. Assombalonga 2 along with Christensen,Muto and Oliveira on the score sheet .

Premier League Liverpool Home Won 3-1

We finished the month off with a victory over Liverpool at the City Ground,  a confident display leaving us undefeated in September. The lads have performed well this month and given us a morale boost after a poor first month of the season. It was nice to see both centre backs put in a strong performance. The goals came from Oliveira, Vestergaard and Muto.

The tactical tweak paid off with us going undefeated last month along with the loan signings of Papadopoulos and Wallyson who have added quality and steel to our squad. Four player’s exited the club before the transfer window shut, Michu-Valencia £13m, Samaras-Celtic £1.5m, Ward-Birmingham £2m and Mancienne- Middlesbrough £1.9m. The Michu transfer was superb business for the club as he joined us as a free agent, so a massive profit made.
