Studio_20170926_075221Fed Up with winning multiple Champions League titles with the big boys of European football then why not try your hand at non league management. There are multiple club’s you can choose from but I am focusing on Alfreton Town FC, a club based in the small town of Alfreton in Derbyshire who play their football in the National League North of the English football pyramid which is the sixth tier. The club play their home games at North Street (The Impact Arena) which has a capacity of 3600. The club was formed in 1959 and in 2011 reached the Football Conference for the first time in the club’s history under the guidance of popular manager Nicky Law. They spent 4 seasons in the 5th tier before being relegated back to the National League North were they are now.

With very little in the way of finance you will have to wheel and deal your way around the lower echelons of the pyramid. Alfreton is situated in close proximity to a number of Football League Club’s in the East Midlands with the closest being rivals Mansfield Town and then Chesterfield, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Burton Albion. You may want to tap in to the youth and reserve sides of these clubs later down the line to pick up players who are surplus to requirements or on loan to help you progress up the pyramid. The club will play in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy from the start of the save.

There are endless aims and targets that you can set yourself whilst managing the club depending on how deep you want to go in to the save.

  • Promotion to the National League
  • Win the FA Trophy
  • Promotion to the Football League
  • Upgrade facilities for player development and stadium expansion
  • Attempt to take the club in to the Premier League

There are many options to test your self by taking the Alfreton Town job.
